Internet Contracts and Term Agreements

A price guarantee, a promotional period and a minimum service commitment are different things. Better Connect’s nationwide concierge can help you compare those conditions before you order, but the agreement you accept with the provider governs your account. Ask for the written terms whenever a short advertising phrase does not explain what happens when you move, change plans or cancel.

How Better Connect helps

Better Connect is an independent nationwide internet concierge. We compare eligible options from Xfinity, Astound, Verizon, Spectrum, AT&T, Brightspeed, EarthLink, Kinetic. Availability varies by address. Your provider manages billing, account changes, repairs and cancellation.

1. Separate commitment from price protection

A minimum term describes how long you agree to keep qualifying service. A price guarantee describes which price is protected and for how long. A promotion describes an incentive or temporary discount. An offer can have a long price guarantee without an annual service contract.

For example, Better Connect’s managed Xfinity catalog includes price-guarantee offers marked no annual contract. That label does not mean every tax, equipment item, optional service or future account change is covered by the guarantee. Read the specific offer summary.

2. Ask what happens if you leave early

Ask whether an early termination fee applies, how it is calculated and what changes trigger it. Do not assume an internet cancellation fee is the only remaining obligation: device financing, unreturned equipment and a final bill can remain even on no-annual-contract service.

If a representative mentions a buyout or reimbursement, confirm the eligible prior service, documentation, submission deadline and maximum amount in writing. Never cancel solely on an unverified promise that another company will pay the old balance.

3. Check exactly what a price lock includes

Ask whether protection applies to the base internet charge, a bundle total or selected components. Find out whether maintaining AutoPay, a mobile plan or a particular speed tier is required. A price lock may not cover taxes, government charges or optional add-ons.

Verizon Fios and Verizon 5G Home are different product families. Do not carry a Fios price-lock duration, gift-card offer or setup condition over to a 5G Home quote. The current catalog examples below retain the applicable plan notes.

4. Review changes, renewals and the promotional end date

Before accepting, ask for the promotion end date and the price afterward if it is available. Set a reminder to review the account before that date. Where a future rate is not supplied, treat it as unknown rather than assuming the introductory price continues.

Ask whether moving, downgrading, removing TV or cancelling a linked mobile line changes the agreement or discounts. Keep the original confirmation and the confirmation for every later change; a verbal comparison is not a replacement for the provider’s final terms.

5. Compare the complete obligation, not one number

Compare the likely cost over the time you expect to stay: recurring service, equipment, installation and any remaining commitment. Include the cost of mobile lines or devices required for a quoted discount. A cheaper introductory rate is not automatically the lower-cost choice.

Better Connect can explain questions to raise across Xfinity, Astound, Verizon, Spectrum, AT&T, Brightspeed, EarthLink and Kinetic, subject to address availability. Only the provider can confirm account-specific contractual obligations or approve a waiver.

Frequently asked questions

Does a five-year price guarantee mean a five-year contract?

Not necessarily. Price protection and a service commitment are separate terms. Read the provider’s order summary for the minimum commitment, protected charges and conditions.

Does no annual contract mean I can leave without paying anything?

No. You may still owe the final billing period, equipment charges, device financing or other agreed charges. Ask the provider for the full cancellation and return requirements.

Are all charges covered by a price lock?

Do not assume so. Taxes, optional equipment, added services and bundle changes may be excluded. Ask which line items are protected and what must remain active.

Can Better Connect waive an early termination fee?

No. Better Connect can help you understand and compare options, but the provider controls its agreement and any account adjustment or waiver.

What should I save before accepting a plan?

Save the plan name, recurring price, promotion duration, required discounts, equipment and installation costs, commitment terms and order confirmation. Retain any reimbursement instructions separately.

Will changing internet affect a mobile agreement?

It can affect bundle discounts, while a device installment agreement can remain payable. Ask the mobile provider how the internet change affects both the line price and device balance.
